The stages of hair development, and the question of immediate results

Let's have a look at the cycle of hair growth, resting and shedding. When you are born, there are more than one million hair follicles on your head with one-hundred-thousand on the scalp. That's a lot of hair! The number does not change over your lifetime but, as the head grows, the follicles are spread out more. Each hair grows about 6 inches a year but, randomly, the hairs are in different stages. The active period of growth is called anagen where the cells divide and form new growth over a period of between two and six years. The hair then goes into the catagen stage. At any one time, about 3% of all your scalp hair is in a transitional state for about three weeks. The final stage is telogen. About 7% of all your scalp hair rests for about three months. Towards the end of this stage, between 25 and 100 hairs are shed each day.
From this you will understand the problem of an "immediate" halt in any part of this process. We are talking about one-hundred-thousand hairs and 90% of those hairs are growing. To ensure the coverage of the head remains even, the distribution of the 10% that will slowly transition and fall out is entirely random. Thus, when everything is working properly, only a tiny percentage of hair is falling from each part of the scalp on any given day. If you are diagnosed with male pattern baldness, the distribution process has broken down and more hair is lost from particular parts of the scalp, thereby forming the distinctive pattern. The effect of the drug is to move the body's chemistry back in time and trigger the more random process of selecting hairs for the catagen and telogen stages. This is not something that can happen immediately. It takes time to change the body's chemistry. Super Centenarians Defy All Odds and Live Very Long, Healthy Lives

Declining physical prowess is inevitable as we age. Depression, loneliness, isolation and apathy are not. Many of us believe we are old when we have passed age 60, 50, 40 and even 30. But even when we are approaching 100 or more, we could possibly live another 10 or even 20 years. Recently deceased and some currently living centenarians are teaching us that perhaps our beliefs about aging have been incorrect.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there were about 3,000 Americans over 100 years of age in 1950, about 37,306 in 1960, 73,674 in 2004, and there will be an estimated 1.1 million by 2050. Longevity appears to be more about healthy lifestyle than about genetics and DNA. Studying what has helped some people to live way beyond the normal expectations can help us all to improve the quality of our life and our own longevity. Some of the ages listed below may be slightly exaggerated due to inaccurate record keeping, but those in the United States are correct.
Deceased Super Centenarians
o Age 128 - Elizabeth "Ma Pampo" Israel of the Caribbean Island Dominica died 10/14/03. Authorities attribute her longevity to the tranquility of Dominica, the world's "centenarian capital," with more than 20 men and women over age 100 among its 70,000 inhabitants. "For much of her life, she ...worked in the sugarcane fields...and she rose every morning at 5 A.M. to pray."
o Age 122, 5 months and 14 days - Jeanne Calment of Arles, France, a wealthy woman who never had to work. She died in 8/4/97, the oldest documented person at that time. Her advice? "Always keep your smile."
o Age 119 - Sarah Knauss died in 1999, the oldest American in history.
o Age 112 - George Johnson "Sausage Man," who died recently, had lived on a high fat diet of sausage and waffles, yet he had the organs of someone in their 50's or 60's.

There are 75 people alive - 64 women and 11 men - who are 110 or older, according to the Gerontology Research Group, an Inglewood, Calif.-based group that verifies reports of extreme ages. I've decided to take natural living to a new level in my own life. I have to say that as healthy as I thought I was, I was nowhere near really living naturally. With every step I take, I see a new layer of "fake" stuff in our so-called regular way of living. I see new ways to be more and more natural. I'd like to share with you just a few reasons why making the effort to live more naturally will have a super healthy payoff that makes it well worth the work it takes.
1. You are what you eat.
Your body is designed as a sort of "factory". There are all kinds of processes taking place in this factory and the food we consume fuels those processes. Your body or your "factory" is designed to be fueled by food. When you put unnatural products, chemicals and preservatives into your "factory", you can get unpredictable, unnatural results and "gunk up" the system.
2. Your health is invaluable.
When you "gunk up" the system of your body, it could (and probably will) negatively affect your health. When you eat and live more naturally, you remove these unpredictable factors and allow your body to maintain itself in a more healthy state.
3. Eating and living more naturally gives you more energy.
Energy is critical to allowing you to live the most extraordinary life possible.
4. Living more naturally can feel quite gratifying.
When you start cooking with more natural ingredients and making more things from scratch, you will not only feel healthier, you will start to feel a strong sense of accomplishment and independence.

 Health restricted to body and economy; appeals and charms fitness professionals, showbiz individuals, gymnasts, athletes, body builders and fitness freaks and others with mediocre considerations. This is why; when you are young and charged with ambitions, utopia, aspirations, vague restlessness, unexplainable excitement, craving for friendship, urge for love, agony of romance, eagerness for challenges and attraction for adventures; physical health is rendered secondary. 
This is why; reckless about health and wealth; you try to experience that love, romance, adventure and thrill in alternative sources such as tobacco, alcohol, or something else; even if that is bad for health. Evolution of concept of health from "a matter of mediocre personal goal", into "aspiration of the getting ecstatic spiritual experience; and material abundance conducive to such experience; and sharing them with the world"; is SUPERHEALTH and such living is SUPERLIVING!

4 Keys to Optimum Health - Eat These Super Healthy Whole Foods for Good Nutrition

Today I'm going to answer an objection that someone raised a few days ago. After reading the long list of "foods" to avoid and eliminate from your diet, this person wondered, "What's left to eat?"
That's a great question! I would like to share with you some more keys to good nutrition and some practical tips to eating healthy. Are you ready? Get a piece of paper out and write down this list of foods that you CAN eat and enjoy for good health and nutrition. This is a list of "naked nutrition," also known as natural living whole foods. Your daily diet should consist only of these super healthy foods.
Group I - Fresh, organic raw FRUITS & BERRIES
Go to the produce market or farmer's market and pick out any fruits and berries that appeal to you. I encourage you to try something new every week as well. Here's a partial list of some of the foods in this category:
apples, pineapples, grapefruit, bananas, pears, peaches, papayas, tangerines, watermelon, grapes, apricots, cherries, blackberries, oranges, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, apricots, limes, lemons, raspberries, noni fruit, mangosteen, wolfberry-goji, acai berries, black currants, blueberries, pomegranates, bilberries, elderberries, cranberries, prunes, plums, guavas, mangos, etc.
Group II - Fresh, organic GREENS & VEGETABLES (preferably raw or lightly steamed)
Find the freshest farmer's market where you can get as many organic greens and vegetables as possible. Here's a partial list of some of the foods in this category that you get to enjoy eating:
spinach, watercress, kale, broccoli, brussels sprouts, turnip greens, collards, cauliflower, mustard greens, mushrooms, chinese cabbage, red cabbage, parsley, green leaf lettuce, green peas, zucchini, green beans, cucumbers, dandelion greens, green and red bell peppers, artichokes, celery, cabbage, eggplant, tomatoes, onions, beets, pumpkin, potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, garlic, cayenne peppers, jalepeno peppers, asparagus, ginger, spring onions, leeks, etc.
This is a very powerful category of foods that you can choose from every day. You can make all kinds of dishes and meals from this group that are delicious and healthy. Avoid at all costs buying genetically modified (GMO) products. You want to look for these foods that were grown with organic farming methods that don't use toxic chemical pesticides and herbicides. Here's the partial list of foods in this category:
brown rice, barley, millet, oatmeal, buckwheat, wild rice, 100% whole wheat flour, rye, wheat germ, soybean sprouts, lentils, split peas, kidney beans, navy beans, lima beans, garbanzo beans, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, sesame seeds, almonds, cashews, macadamias, flax seed, oat bran, wheat sprouts, quinoa and quinoa sprouts, amaranth sprouts, chia seeds, etc. * Remember, only buy fresh RAW seeds & nuts. This group is last because it is not as important as the first three groups. It contains some very healthy foods that should be eaten in moderation. Other healthy foods include:

Wellness and Healthy Living - What Does it Take to Live Well, Live Long, and Live Healthiest?

Have you immersed yourself in super food syndrome? Well, I have and it fills great. You see, I have a healthy diet of nuts, fruits, vegetables, spices, meat, and fish, then I follow that up with a very good group of supplements. Why, because I'd like to live like the Vulcans on Star Trek, a species of humanoids known to both; "Live Long and Prosper!" When I say super foods what do I mean, you ask? Well, how about foods with Omega 3, and all the best anti-oxidants, vitamins, and reputation for being super healthy. Foods like salmon, avocados, tomatoes, broccoli, walnuts, almonds, garlic, blueberries, dark chocolate, cinnamon, etc. Why not go do your own homework and look and find all the super foods and add them to your diet? You owe it to your body to do this. 
Next, figure out if you are getting enough sleep each night, don't get your body into a sleep deficit, as it can take a toll and often feels like it's a cumulative problem. Also, exercise is very important, and you need to find the time, even if it's only for 1-hour per day perhaps walking a few miles. There is an old Celtic phrase; "Be Well, Live Well, and Live Longest!" - and you know that sure is darn good advice. And speaking of advice; let me give you one more important tip. 
You need to consider perhaps a vitamin supplement program, as this will offset whatever you may be lacking in your diet, giving you more anti-oxidants, vitamins, and essential minerals and electrolytes. Look, I know it's hard to eat right, but you have to do it. Why not stack the deck when it comes to your future health? The ball is in your court, no one is going to follow you around and make sure you do it right. Eat right, exercise, get a good night's sleep, and pick a vitamin supplement program you can live with, live healthy with that is.
